ABOUT GREAT RUN

great run logoThe HBA Great Australian Run is the latest event to be developed as part of Great Run and forms the most recent expansion of our international programme. Australia is a new and exciting arena for Great Run, and we hope to build on the success we have had elsewhere through the HBA Great Australian Run.

We strive to deliver safe, well organised, fun yet challenging events through which the competitor can experience the sensation of being part of something huge. Everyone runs for their own reason but on that one day, everyone is running together in their own personal challenge.

Our key messages are: Enjoy, Participate and Succeed.

Based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England and founded by Olympic medallist Brendan Foster, Great Run is the world's largest mass participation running programme with over 700,000 people of all ages taking part annually. Our international programme includes some of the biggest and best events in the world, the most famous of which is the Bupa Great North Run, which is firmly established as the world's biggest half marathon, with 52,000 entrants participating each year.
