I'm from the US and I used to regularly run a 25,000 strong race in my hometown, and I considered that the best-put-together fun run I've ever done. I judge everything else against it. I feel the Great Australian Run was equal with that experience.
Family And Junior Great Australian Run
Running isn’t just for adults – it’s for kids too.
On Saturday 28 November 2009 Albert Park played host to the IGA Junior Great Australian Run and IGA Great Australian Family Run, and saw over 500 youngsters of all abilities aged from 3 to 14 years taking part.
Both races were staged on self-contained courses within Albert Park – 2km for the Family Run and 5km for Junior's – that took youngsters around the F1 Grand Prix Track!

For children aged 11 – 14, this 5km run took place in a loop around the Grand Prix race track in Albert Park.

For children aged 3 - 10, who have the option of an accompanying adult to take part along with them in the 2km run.
